Angel Brinson

Youth Leadership Board Chair, Member of the Board of Directors, Occupational Therapy Graduate Student, UNC Chapel Hill

Angel Brinson is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program at UNC-Chapel Hill. With personal experiences navigating mental illness, Angel has long been passionate about improving mental health care—especially for adolescents from marginalized backgrounds, including those impacted by poverty and family substance use. Her career goal is to work in community-based mental health OT, specifically in the nonprofit sector.

At C4CC, Angel is leads the C4CC Youth Leadership Board (YLB) and brings both lived experience and academic training to support the organization’s mission of providing youth-centered mental health care that truly matters. She is a strong advocate for social prescribing—offering youth meaningful alternatives to medication or talk therapy. Angel believes in the power of movement, art, nature, connection, and belonging to foster mental wellness, and appreciates C4CC’s commitment to these pillars alongside traditional support options.
